Less than a month after John Scott wowed crowds with his All-Star performance, his story is being brought to the big screen. Coming from an NHL farm team, he was discouraged from even playing in the big game on Jan. 31., and no one expected the enforcer to play the way he did, scoring two goals and netting the MVP trophy.

While the game might be fading from some people's minds, as the trade deadline looms and fans are focused elsewhere, John Scott stated that the movie is still in the making.

"The movie thing is still going to happen, which is going to be super cool," he told Dean Blundell in an interview on Sportsnet 590 The Fan. "The guy from the Goon would probably be perfect [to play me], but he's already spoken for, so I'm going to have to look somewhere else," according to Sportsnet's Luke Fox.

The actor in question could be Liev Schreiber, who played Ross "The Boss" Rhea in the 2011 sports comedy movie, according to CBSSports' Chris Peters.

In the interview Scott then explained that he had been approached by a script writer even before he left for the All-Star game in Nashville, telling him not to be surprised if he received a lot of script offers, according to Fox. The idea has been pitched to his agent, Ben Hankinson, by numerous production companies.

"I think they want to do [the movie] fairly quickly while it's still fresh in everyone's mind," said Scott.

The 33-year-old was reportedly discouraged by the league to participate in the All-Star game, even suggesting his children would be disappointed in him if he were to play with the NHL's best, but Scott is not holding any grudges.

"I never had any problems with the league or Gary [Bettman]," Scott said, according to Fox. "They were trying to do the right thing by having me not play. They were just worried for me. They didn't want to have this tall guy who doesn't score in the All-Star Game and maybe embarrass them a little bit. I get that. I just think they went about it the wrong way."

"That whole two-week stretch was a big change, but now it's kinda back to normal, back to business," Scott continued. "I've got four girls now, I've got an NHL All-Star MVP under my belt, so I can't complain."

John Scott and the St. John's IceCaps play the Syracuse Crunch tonight.
