"NCIS" will celebrate its 300th episode by acknowledging America's wounded veterans suffering from emotional trauma. Taye Diggs will guest star as a Marine who suffered traumatic injuries and Post Partum Stress Syndrome (PTSS) following an ambush attack, according to TVLine.

Diggs will play Marine Gunnery Sergeant Aaron Davis, a Special Ops sniper, who has spent the last six months at Walter Reed Medical Center going through "a slow but effective rehab that includes a cutting-edge music therapy program."

According to the episode description, Davis was once a free spirit and a gifted musician, but has spiraled into a shell of his former self. Gibbs (Mark Harmon) attempts to reach the wounded warrior, in need of his account of the ambush attack to solve a murder.

"For our 300th episode we needed a guest actor who could proudly portray one of our nation's wounded warriors as well as participate in a very touching musical performance. This emotionally charged role is tailor-made for Taye Diggs and we are so thrilled and honored to have him join us," showrunner Gary Glasberg said in a statement (via TVLine).

The milestone episode will air on March 15.

Diggs currently stars on the TNT series "Murder in the First," which will return for a third season this summer. He also starred on the "Grey's Anatomy" spinoff "Private Practice" for six seasons.

"NCIS" returns with new episodes tomorrow, Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
