Tony will jump back into the dating pool in the 299th episode of "NCIS," but a pressing case will trump small talk over dinner.

The episode will pull the curtain back on all the characters' lives after hours - also the title of the episode, according to Entertainment Weekly. The case of the week seems pretty "cut and dry" but will soon make "Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) and everyone else's gut churn."

Tony's (Michael Weatherly) date goes south when he puts more focus on the case than his companion. Abby (Pauley Perrette) collects evidence in her pajamas and McGee (Sean Murray) recreates a crime scene of his dinner at home with girlfriend Delilah (Margo Harshman).

Looking ahead to the historic 300th episode, showrunner Gary Glasberg hasn't said much about the plot except to speculate on a few possibilities earlier this season.

"It's an episode that I think we're going to put some military and Navy attachment to, that may have to do with a veterans scenario that we've been intrigued by, is really heartfelt and could be something that Gibbs connects with," Glasberg told TVLine in October and added, "We'll also probably bring on a bunch of surprise guest stars, as well."

"NCIS" is also working toward saying goodbye to Weatherly, who will exit the show at this spring after 13 seasons. He's one of four original cast members still on the show.

"NCIS" returns with new episodes on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
