The San Diego Chargers struggled on both sides of the ball during the 2015 season and finished tied for the second to worst record in the league with the Dallas Cowboys at 4-12. The Chargers now sit with the third pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, and Ohio State defensive lineman Joey Bosa could be a potential target for San Diego, according to Charlie Campbell of Walter Football.

The Chargers struggled to create a pass rush and finished the regular season ranked 24th in the NFL with only 32 total team sacks. While Bosa isn't a great fit in a 3-4 defense, the Chargers reportedly believe that Bosa is a versatile player that will be able to move around in their defense.

The Buckeyes defensive lineman was a force in the past three seasons at Ohio State and recorded 26 sacks and 51 tackles for a loss. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound defensive lineman created havoc for opposing offensive lineman and is considered the top prospect in the 2016 NFL Draft by many draft analysts.

ESPN's Todd McShay has projected Bosa to be the first pick in the draft and projected the Chargers to take Ole Miss offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil. Reports have already surfaced that the Titans are looking to trade down within the top 10 picks for a defensive back but view the coveted offensive tackle, Tunsil, as a backup option with the first pick in the draft.

NFL scouts have compared Bosa with Washington Redskins pass rusher Ryan KerriganKerrigan has recorded 47.5 sacks since being drafted in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, and many would likely be happy to get the same production out of Bosa in his first five seasons in the league. The Chargers will have to wait and see what both the Titans and Browns decide to do on draft day, but Bosa could be a potential fit with the Chargers if he is still on the board after the first two picks.
