Last week, expecting mother Nicole Kim, 26, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada went to the doctor with her husband, Tony, to get her 20-week ultrasound. The ultrasound started out normal, and the couple was thrilled to discover that their baby was going to be a boy, reported Buzzfeed. As the ultrasound went on, the technician went along taking photos of the fetus and checking that it was in good health. Then, Kim heard the technician say, "Look, the baby is giving you the thumbs-up!" reported The Calgary Sun.

She zoomed in and snapped a photo and the family now has it framed.

"I just thought it was the neatest thing. We just couldn't stop smiling," said Kim, according to the Sun.

This little ray of positivity is just what the Kim family needed. Nicole's husband was laid off just before they found out they were expecting a third child, so times have been tough. Tens of thousands have lost their oil industry jobs in Calgary in the past year. The Kims have stayed positive, though, and their unborn son is clearly encouraging them to keep at it, reported Global News.

"It's something good in the world, which we all need now. People are really struggling right now. This brings them a little bit of hope," said Kim, according to the Sun. The baby-to-be's older brothers, age 3 and 5, thought their little brother's signal was "the coolest thing ever," added Kim.
