Melissa McCarthy, who played Sookie St. James on the original "Gilmore Girls," revealed that she wasn't invited to Netflix's reboot of the beloved series.

McCarthy took to Twitter on Tuesday to state that she was not going to reprise her role as Sookie because no one asked her to be a part of the four-episode special.

"Thanks for the invite, but sadly no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow," she wrote. "Wish them all the best!!"

It was confirmed last week that Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel will reprise their roles as Lorelai Gilmore and Rory Gilmore respectively, as HNGN previously reported. However, it was unclear whether McCarthy would be a returning cast-member on the revival.

In an interview on Monday, "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said she wanted McCarthy to be a part of the series but the "Spy" actress' schedule did not allow for it.

"She's really f---ing busy," said Sherman-Palladino, according to TVLine. "[Sookie] was a character we knew we could not count on in terms of story, because [McCarthy] just simply wouldn't have that sort of time to carve out for us."

Sherman Palladino and her husband Daniel are writing and directing the four 90-minute episodes, which started filming on Tuesday, according to People.
