Levi the pitbull has been through alot in his life. He survived a dognapping two years, and he fell from a ledge while on a family hike, preventing the family's young son from also falling. He lost his leg after the fall, but he has adjusted to the three-legged life and is a high-spirited, loyal, amazing pet, reported CNN

When an armed robber broke into owners Darcy Cherry and Bob Stenzel's house in Janesville, Wisc. last week, Levi had yet another brush with heroism.

A man dressed in black with a mask and a gun barged into the Wisconsin home and threatened to shoot if the owners didn't show him the safe or give him money. From the moment he entered, Levi went into protection mode and barked and growled at the man. Since the couple had no safe and no cash to give him, the intruder got angry and shot at Levi, narrowly missing his head and getting him in the shoulder, according to ABC 13. The intruder then ran off and has still not been caught.

Luckily, Levi is expected to make a full recovery, and he continues to be one of the most resilient and brave dogs we've ever heard of. His owners remain shaken up from the intrusion, but luckily they have Levi by their sides.
