Tamil superstar Dhanush will work with "Kill Bill" actress Uma Thurman in his Hollywood debut movie, "The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir Who Got Trapped In An Ikea Cupboard."

Directed by Iranian-French director Marjane Satrapi, the comedy adventure movie also stars Alexandra Daddario, Barkhad Abdi, Laurent Lafitte and Indian actress Seema Biswas, according to India Today. The movie is based on Romain Puertolas' bestselling debut novel by the same name.

"As I was watching various Indian movies, Dhanush became the most obvious choice - his intelligence, his killer smile, his ability to enter fully into the skin of any character he played (and I can go on and on forever) made me confident that he was the one," Satrapi said on Dhanush's casting as lead male role in the movie, according to Hindustan Times.

Dhanush, son-in-law of Tamil megastar Rajinikanth, said he was very excited about his Hollywood debut. "I am very excited by this opportunity to work in a full length Hollywood film. The director, Marjane Satrapi, felt I would be apt for this role and I feel there are many facets I can explore for this character," the "Aadukalam" actor said in a statement, according to The Hindu.

The 32-year-old actor also thanked his fans for "pushing me to explore new endeavors and challenges all the time," according to Indian Express.

The South Indian superstar, who first made headlines with his song "Why This Kolaveri Di," has worked in hit Bollywood movies "Raanjhanaa" and "Shamitabh."
