Thursday, Jan. 21 was National Hug Day, and Jimmy Kimmel gave one of his audience members a day she would never forget. Zac Efron stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and celebrated the holiday by hugging a lucky fan for 30 seconds.

"Today, by the way, in case you don't know, is National Hugging Day, also known as National Make a Co-Worker Very Uncomfortable Day," Kimmel joked. "According to the website, National hugging Day was created to encourage family and friends to hug often and freely. When a holiday has a website, you know it's legit."

Kimmel introduced Efron as "one of the top huggers in the United States of America," and the females in the audience lost it when Kimmel announced one of them would get to hug the actor. Efron walked out on stage with a boombox in hand because he "always brings a boombox for all my hugs."

The lucky girl that was chosen from the audience was a young woman from Australia named Rebecca. Efron and Rebecca then embraced while the Cutting Crew's 1987 classic "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" played from the boombox.

"I did not go to the prom in high school," Kimmel joked when the hug was over, "but I imagine that's just what it would have been like: Me standing in the corner watching the handsome guy dance with a girl."
