"Fast and Furious" fans rejoice! The eighth installment in the high-octane franchise is slated to hit theaters on April 14, 2017 and will be titled "Fast 8," according to Deadline.

Vin Diesel shared the film's first-look poster via Instagram over the weekend, revealing the film's details against a backdrop of the New York City skyline, suggesting that the action film will be set in the Big Apple in spite of reports that Universal was interested in filming the project in Cuba.

"Fast 8" will be the follow-up to last year's "Furious 7," which featured Paul Walker as Brain O'Conner for the last time following his 2013 death in a car crash. The film was a huge box office success, raking in $1.5 billion worldwide, and made history by becoming the sixth highest-grossing film ever, according to Variety.

Plot details have not yet been revealed, but along with the remaining cast, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham will reprise their roles as Hobbs and Deckerd Shaw. The project will be helmed by "Straight Outta Compton" director F. Gary Gray with Neil Moritz and Diesel producing.
