Bless my soul! Adam Lambert will play Eddie in the Fox musical event, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The role was originated by Meat Loaf in the original 1975 film.

Eddie is the rock 'n' roll-loving ex-delivery boy who rides into Dr. Frank-N-Furter's celebration on a motorcycle.

Lambert joins a cast that includes Laverne Cox (Dr. Frank-N-Furter), Victoria Justice (Janet), Ryan McCartan (Brad), Reeve Carney (Riff-Raff) and Staz Nair (Rocky Horror). Kenny Ortega will direct, choreograph and executive produce.

The two-hour special will air on Fox this fall.

USA Network Renews "Playing House"

USA Network has renewed the comedy "Playing House" for a third season. Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham star as two best friends, Maggie and Emma, who are living together in their hometown as Emma helps Maggie raise her baby.

ABC's "Dirty Dancing" Remake Cast Debra Messing

ABC has officially greenlit the three-hour "Dirty Dancing" remake of the classic 1987 film. Debra Messing has been cast as Marjorie Houseman, Dr. Houseman's wife and the mother of Baby, who will be played by Abigail Breslin. Kelly Bishop originated the role in the movie starring Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze.

The production will be filmed and not performed live. ABC has not announced a premiere date.

Syfy Sets Premiere Dates for "12 Monkeys" and "Hunters"

"12 Monkeys" will return for a 13-episode second season on Monday, April 18 at 9 p.m. on Syfy. The cable network will premiere its new series, "Hunters," on Monday, April 11 at 10 p.m.

USA Network Orders Drama "Falling Water"

USA Network has picked up the drama, "Falling Water," written and co-created by Blake Masters and Henry Bromell. They will also serve as executive producers alongside Gale Anne Hurd ("The Walking Dead").

According to USA Network's description, "Falling Water" is the story of three unrelated people, who slowly realize that they are dreaming separate parts of a single common dream. Each of them is on mysterious and highly personal quest - one is searching for his missing girlfriend, one is searching for a lost child, one is looking to cure his catatonic mother - and it is the clue found in their collective dream that come to guide them. The deeper they dig, though, the more they come to realize that their missions touch on stakes that are much larger than their individual agendas. That the visions found in their common dream just might hold the key to the fate of the world.

Fox Sets Premiere for Mark Burnett's First Dating Reality Series

Fox has ordered the first-ever dating competition series from mega-producer Mark Burnett. The 10-episode untitled series, set in the Caribbean Islands, will premiere later this year.

Single men and women will match up based only on instant chemistry. The show will then follow the couples as they discover whether or not they have the compatibility to make their relationships last.

Fox Orders Female Baseball Drama "Pitch"

Fox has picked up the pilot for the female baseball drama, "Pitch," from Dan Fogelman ("Grandfathered," "Galavant") and Rick Singer. Kylie Bunbury has landed the lead role of a young female pitcher who defies the odds when she becomes the first woman to play in the major leagues.

Amazon Will Stream "Mozart in the Jungle" for Free

Following its Golden Globe wins for Best TV Comedy or Musical, Amazon will stream both seasons of "Mozart in the Jungle" for free this weekend starting at 9 p.m. on Friday until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. Gael García Bernal also won Best Actor in a TV Comedy or Musical at the Globes last weekend.
