New details have emerged following Nick Carter's arrest on Wednesday night. The singer of the '90s boy band the Backstreet Boys was reportedly so drunk upon entering a Florida bar and that he was denied service, which led to his arrest on battery charges after a brawl broke between Carter, a friend and two bar employees, NBC News reported.

Carter, 35, and his pal, 27-year-old California resident Michael Papayans, entered the Hog' Breath Saloon in Key West, Fla., at around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night. Both men were "heavily intoxicated," according to an incident report filed by the Key West Police Department, obtained by NBC News. A bartender denied service to Carter and Papayans and the men became "aggressive" after they were repeatedly asked to leave. During the scuffle, which was caught on video, Papayans allegedly head-butted a Hog's Breath Saloon employee and Carter allegedly grabbed the bar's bouncer by his throat.

Both men were arrested on misdemeanor battery charges, according to the Miami Herald. Carter and Papayans are detained at the Monroe County Detention Center on Stock Island and are expected to make their first appearances in court on Thursday.

The Backstreet Boys singer, who was a runner-up on the previous season of "Dancing With the Stars," has had previous run-ins with the law, according to Gossip Cop. He was arrested in 2002 after a nightclub incident and was busted in 2005 on a DUI charge.
