It seems like Microsoft's Bing will finally manage to get ahead of Google - in Internet speed test searches, at least. As the company strives to improve its flagship search engine to stand toe-to-toe with industry leader Google Search, Microsoft has begun testing the integration of a new Internet speed tester within Bing Search itself, according to Tech Portal.

Though the feature is still in its trial phases for now, a number of users have already been able to access the feature. Indeed, the feature is quite basic, but it does add a certain degree of functionality to Bing Search - one which might finally strike gold with users worldwide.

After all, Internet speed tests are one of the most prominent searches in Google Search every day. Of course, the internal speed tester is only fractionally faster than clicking through an actual speed testing website, reported Yahoo! News.

In the world of the Internet, however, fractionally quicker matters a lot for users.

To access the feature, users only have to type the words "Internet speed test" or simply "speed test" in the Bing Search bar. The search engine will then display a widget-like speed test app that shows the user's IP address, latency, download speed, and upload speed, according to Venture Beat.

Microsoft has confirmed that the Internet speed test tool is indeed set to be made available to improve user experience with the search engine.

"We're always testing new experiences for Bing, which includes the Speed Test experience. We have nothing further to share at this time," said a Microsoft spokesperson.

Bing has been raising the bar for search engines lately, adding support for emoji search and incorporating the classic game Snake recently.
