On the season finale of "Born This Way," A&E's groundbreaking docuseries that followed the lives of seven adults living with Down syndrome, cast members Cristina, John, Megan and Elena each experienced a life-changing event, while co-stars Rachel, Steven and Sean gave updates on the goals they hope to accomplish.

Cristina

Cristina has been with her boyfriend Angel for nearly five years and has wondered when he will pop the question, but she didn't know that Angel was already preparing to propose. Angel asked Cristina's father Mariano for his blessing, and Mariano even helped Angel plan a romantic dinner for Cristina so he could finally propose. Cristina's mother Beatriz helped her get ready for the big night, and Cristina wore a beautiful dress with full makeup and her hair styled in voluminous curls. She held back tears when Angel got down on one knee and presented her with a diamond engagement ring in front of the entire restaurant, as previously reported by HNGN. After she said yes, the couple celebrated their engagement with Cristina's parents and Angel's grandparents, who were waiting in the next room.

John

The aspiring hip-hop artist took the advice he received from a producer friend and signed himself up to perform during an open mic night at the Pig 'N Whistle restaurant on Hollywood Boulevard. He brought the sass during his performance of his song "Shake That Booty Booty," and his mother Joyce cried tears of joy when she told cameras how proud she was that her son was living his dream.

Megan

Megan and her mother Kris moved to Hollywood for the summer from Colorado on a trial basis just for the summer. Kris was supportive of her daughter's dream to move to Los Angeles and become a film producer, but she explained to her daughter that she's not ready to live on her own yet. During a bowling trip with her new friends, Megan announced that she had to go back home to finish her college degree. "I want you guys to know how much you guys inspire me," Megan said during her tearful goodbye.

Elena

Change is not something that Elena can handle, so it took her a long time to accept that her parents sold their longtime home to move into a new house. With the help of a supported day specialist, Elena finally took the first step towards acceptance and visited her parent's new home- but she refused to go inside. She was able to overcome her fear of change and visited her parents again, enjoying dinner with them in their new home.

While they didn't have prominent story lines during the season finale, cast members Rachel, Steven and Sean each wrapped up the season by revealing the goals they hope to accomplish next. Rachel said that her next goal is to conquer her fear of crowds and loud noises and attend a basketball game, while Sean and Steven both said that they each hope to find girlfriends.
