Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has written a letter to London rapper M.I.A. demanding that she take down footage of the soccer team's jersey from her "Borders" music video, which shows the current migrant crisis around the world, according to Agence France-Presse.

In one of the scenes of the music video, M.I.A. is seen wearing the French football team's jersey, with the sponsor's name changed to "Fly Pirates" from the original "Fly Emirates," according to The Guardian.

M.I.A. took to Twitter on Monday to share a picture of the letter received by her record company from Jean-Claude Blanc, PSG's Deputy CEO, ordering the artist to remove any footage of the jersey from the video and demanding compensation for "harm suffered." "So there's the case MIA vs PSG - discuss...," she captioned the post.

"We consider that the use of our brand and image in a video clip denouncing the treatment of refugees is a source of discredit to our club and distorts its public communication policy," Blanc wrote, seemingly referring to the depiction of migrants jumping fences and wading across the ocean in packed boats in the video.

Blanc then goes on to point out PSG's achievements, popularity and reputation before listing the team's social actions, which includes providing aid to poor and sick children and donating $1.1 million euros to charities in the wake of the refugee crisis.

This isn't the first time M.I.A. has locked horns with a sports team. In 2013, the singer was sued by the NFL seeking damages to the tune of $16.6 million for flipping the bird during her performance with Madonna at the 2014 Super Bowl, as HNGN previously reported.
