Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase is the front-runner for the head-coaching job with the Miami Dolphins, and some expect him to get an offer from the team as early as this weekend, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

Miami has scheduled Gase for a second interview, making him the only candidate to be scheduled for two interviews, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Gase and the Dolphins are making progress and could have a decision as early as Saturday, according to Schefter. The Dolphins are reportedly "close" to a deal with Gase. The deal is being finalized, and Gase is expected to be named the Dolphins next head coach, according to Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post.

Reports surfaced earlier this week that the Dolphins were making a strong push for Gase, and owner Stephen Ross reportedly had Gase as the favorite before the interview process even began. Gase is one of the hottest coaching candidates on the market this offseason, and teams like the Cleveland Browns and the New York Giants have reportedly already interview the coveted coach.

The Dolphins finished the 2015 NFL season with a 6-10 record and have already made a ton of front office changes, including hiring their new general manager Chris Grier. Miami clearly has talent on their roster, but their offense clearly struggled to move the ball this season, finishing the year ranked 26th in the NFL in terms of yards per game.

Gase has had success with both Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, and the front office down in Miami likely believes that he can help turn around quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The Dolphins 2012 first-round pick has struggled with consistently, and a young offensive minded coach like Gase could be just what Tannehill needs. It will be interesting to watch what happens in Miami over the next several days, but it sounds like all signs are pointing to Gase as the next head coach of the Dolphins.
