Caitlyn Jenner's plans for the New Year are already being sidetracked. The 66-year-old reality star has been forced to cancel her upcoming speaking tour "Up Close and Personal" due to a scheduling conflict and probably slow ticket sales, TMZ reported.

Sources are claiming that the cancellation is linked to a lack of interest in Jenner's show, which has resulted in venues not selling the amount of tickets they anticipated. A Toronto venue reportedly told TMZ Thursday that "there were still 'a lot' of tix left for Caitlyn's speaking engagement when she backed out."

Others are claiming that Jenner's cancellation is purely due to a scheduling conflict. A representative for Jenner told FOX411 that "[there was a] conflict of dates with other work commitments."

"Certain dates had to be canceled due to other work commitments," her rep told The New York Daily News. "She had already completed a speaking engagement in Chicago and will be able to book additional dates at a later time."

Jenner's tour was set to kick off in Toronto on Feb. 22, with stops n San Francisco, Denver, Seattle and Vancouver. The tour was announced back in October, but little promotion was made for the events. Ticket prices for the five-city tour ranged from $40 to $500 for VIP seats.

The tour included speeches from the former Olympian, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, about life following her transition, along with her lecture organization Unique Lives and Experiences.

"Caitlyn's personal journey with an inspiration message of acceptance towards the transgender community and what it takes to lead an authentic life, followed by a short, moderated, question-and-answer period," Unique Lives spokesman Howard Szigeti told USA Today.

Jenner has received criticizing from the LBGTQ community, who claim that Jenner's celebrity status has protected her from the real issues often faced by those who are transgender.
