Lorde, the 16-year-old old New Zealand pop singer who shot to fame with her hit single "Royals," has given her opinion on everyone from Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez to David Guetta, whom she recently called "so gross." In her latest interview, the outspoken star revealed the way in which she relates to Kanye West and feels uncomfortable around girls her age.

"When I meet a bunch of girls my age, I find that stressful as I'm just a high school student myself. I feel intimidated by them," she told The Sun. "But meeting people like Kanye West - people who are into what you do and understand about having a vision - I can relate to. He is so driven and has such a unique way of seeing things. I'd love to work with him or Prince. Meeting Prince would be such an honor."

Like Lorde (real name Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor), West has never been shy about voicing his opinions on the music industry, and like Lorde, he admires the latest image overhaul of Disney princess turned self-proclaimed twerk queen, Miley Cyrus.

"[Twerking] is something I'd never do - I wouldn't feel confident with my ass out. But if Miley feels comfortable doing it herself then it's no-one's business to judge," Lorde admitted. "If she wants to appear in her bra and panties then it's cool. Having been in an institution like Disney all her life, it's important she has fun. For now, it's not for me. It's not natural."

Although Lorde has defended Cyrus's departure into a more adult, racy image, she found fault with Cyrus's Disney contemporary Selena Gomez in terms of her song lyrics, and caught flack for her critical comments from Joe Jonas (who defended the star) and even Gomez herself.

"I'm a feminist, and the theme of her song is, "When you're ready come and get it from me." I'm sick of women being portrayed this way," Lorde told MTV News last month, and Gomez has something to say in return.

"In my opinion it's not feminism if you're tearing down another artist. So that's the only thing that I feel but you know, she's young, she's got so much talent, she's gonna take over, she gets it, so I don't take it to heart," Gomez said during radio interview with Hot 99.5.

As for her own future, Lorde told The Sun that she plans on keeping her path straight despite her sudden leap to stardom at such a young age.

"Six months ago, no-one knew who I was and now fans chase my car," she said. "But I'm never going to change or let fame get the better of me. I'll never go off the rails like Britney or do an Amy - because my upbringing was so normal."

Lorde's new album, "Pure Heroine," has been praised by critics and has enjoyed moderate commercial success around the world.
