Seth Meyers returned to "Late Night" after a long holiday break in the perfect way. The host opened up his show by making a parody of the new Netflix series people cannot seem to get enough of, "Making a Murderer."

Meyers was clearly taken with the gripping 10-part true crime series which tells the story of Steven Avery, who spent 18 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. He was released after DNA evidence proved his innocence but was arrested for murder two years later, as HNGN previously reported. He has maintained his innocence the entire time but is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the murder.

In the clip, called "Making a Talk Show Host," Meyers poked fun at the huge amount of collect calls that were included in the series when an operator connected him to staff member at 30 Rockefeller Center. The parody nailed the Wisconsin accent  and stuck to the same format that the Netflix series did.

"I gotta come back?" Meyers asked over the phone.

"They don't got no more reruns," the staff member told him.

"Oh, no?" Meyers said.

The bit closed with a picture Meyers doing his best Avery impersonation, long beard and all.

"What time's the show on again?" Meyers finally asked the staff member. "God that's late," Meyers replied when he found out "Late Night" was not on until 12:35 a.m.
