The Afghan city of Jalalabad was rocked with an explosion near the consulate buildings in Pakistan, Iran and India on Tuesday afternoon. Attaullah Khugyani said that no casualties have been reported from the blast. Additionally, the attack had no clear target and no one has claimed responsibility, NDTV reported.

A source has come forward and stressed that the Indian Consulate was not a target, stifling reports that the Indian mission was the target of the blast. "Pakistan Consul General's house in Jalalabad was closer to the blast site than the Indian mission which was 400 metres away," the source said, according to The Hindu.

The recent blast follows the similar explosion conducted by terrorists in Mazar-e-Shariff that took place at the country's mission on Sunday. The terrorists and security forces engaged in a gun battle that lasted for about 25 hours before it came to an end and all attackers who tried to enter the mission building were killed.
