Researchers in a 2008 determined that the DNA of physically active people actually consisted of longer telomeres, a cell that marks aging. It's what make exercisers look a lot younger than their age compared to those with sedentary lifestyle, according to the Scientific American.

Another study, conducted by researchers at McMaster University in Ontario, has determined that exercise can help slow down skin damage, thus giving those that exercise younger looking skin, per The New York Times. Recommended cardio workouts include brisk walking, hiking, stair climbing, jogging, running, cycling, fitness classes, dance classes and sports activities, according to the American Heart Association.

Exercises to relieve stress. One of the reasons for aging fast is stress and you can do stress-busting activities with 10-minute meditation or yoga exercises daily. There's even a method called face yoga that works like a facelift sans Botox treatments.

"Since the muscles on our faces can't lift weights or go on the treadmill, when you apply pressure with your fingertips or make certain facial expressions, you're toning and strengthening the muscles," said yoga instructor Annelise Hagen, via Total Beauty. "I would never say face yoga eradicates all lines, but it can definitely change the downward drift."
