Double the love this week as Headlines and Global News' "Rescue Pet of the Week" isn't one kitty, but two! Carey and Maury love each other so much, so Castaway Cats in Bear, Del. is looking for one home for these two shy and sweet cats.

Carey and Maury were born to a semi-feral mom, Stephie, as part of her four kitten litter. Stephie would visit a nearby house to get food and when the kittens, Carey, Maury, Julian and Jada, were old enough, they trotted over to the warm food spot with her, according to Castaway Cat's page on Petfinder. The kittens (and mom) were taken in and are finally getting ready for their new homes!

"Carrie is a leader, very adventurous, yet cuddly and sweet," the foster family wrote. "She is not afraid or skittish and is great with kids. She does not seem to be afraid of dogs and is fine with other cats and likes to talk.

"Maury is playful little guy. He loves to be pet and played with but is a little more shy than his sister, but both are very well-adapted."

Carrie has been spayed and Maury has been neutered, according to Castaway Cats. Both cats were vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, are flea and worm-free and tested negative for both feline leukemia and FIV.

If you are interested in opening your home and heart to these bonded siblings, contact Castaway Cats via email castawaycatsde@aol.com or by phone (302) 325-2081.

We actually had a hard time choosing the featured pet this week! Castaway Cats has so many adorable, adoptable cats that deserve a loving home. If you're only looking for one pet, check out Bobby, a handsome guy who hopes the third time is the charm, and Cool Boy, a tubby dude looking to live out his "fat and happy" days with a family. Both Bobby and Cool Boy are FIV positive, but that only means they need to be the only feline kings in their respective castles. FIV is not transmittable to humans or dogs and it is not a "death sentence." To learn a little more about FIV, check out the article on October 2015's Rescue Pet of the Week, Rudy, from Ontario.

If you fall in love with Carrie and Maury, Bobby, Cool Boy or another HNGN featured rescue pet, be sure to tell us your story! Send photos and anecdotes to k.aquilina@hngn.com. We love happy endings and you and your pet could be featured on Headlines and Global News' Pets Happy Zone!
