The year 2015 is just about over and it has yielded some great anime (like "One Punch Man," "Dragon Ball Super," "Young Black Jack" and "Pokemon XY&Z"), but now it's time to look ahead to the new series and seasons coming in 2016. Here are some promising shows to look forward to in the coming month:

"Active Raid: Kidou Kyoushuushitsu Dai Hakkei"
A sci-fi/police/mecha series that follows a special public security division with the mission of combating the rise of crime in Tokyo. Their weapons of choice? Armored exoskeletons called Willware. The series is set to premiere Jan. 7. Watch the trailer HERE.

"Ajin"
An immortal being appeared 17 years ago and, since then, more immortal lifeforms have begun to appear, becoming known as Ajin or demi-humans. High school student Kei Nagai becomes one of these demi-humans when he comes back to life after dying in a traffic accident, and is forced to run from his former fellow humans, according to Anime News Network. The series is scheduled to premiere Jan. 16, and will be streamed by Netflix in mid-2016. Watch the trailer HERE.

"Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm"
With the discovery of anti-graviton stones, or grash, that allow people to fly without the need for wings or machines, the sport of Flying Circus rises. The protagonist is a former athlete who withdrew from the sport after a crushing defeat, but in teaching a transfer student to fly the skies as he once did, he rediscovers his passion for Flying Circus. The series is scheduled to premiere Jan. 12. Watch the trailer HERE.

"Assassination Classroom," Season 2
The second term of their assassination classroom looming, the students of Kunugigaoka Junior High School Class 3-E continue their lessons under Koro-sensei. They must find a way to kill their alien teacher before their one year is up, or the Earth will be destroyed, and time is running down. "Divine Gate"
With the opening of the Divine Gate, the world of the living became connected with other worlds, creating chaos. The World Council is formed to restore peace, gathering boys and girls with the aim of reaching the gate for personal reasons. Those who can reach it can remake the world, but what lies beyond the gate? And what will change when they do reach it? "Divine Gate" is scheduled to premiere Jan. 8. Watch the trailer HERE.

"Fairy Tale Zero"
This new fantasy anime will serve as a prequel to the popular "Fairy Tail," telling the story of Mavis Vermillion, the founding Master of the Fairy Tail guild. It will depict her early life, more than 100 years before the current series, including her encounter with the dark wizard Zeref. This anime is scheduled to premiere Jan. 9. Warning: the trailer may contain spoilers.

"Myriad Colors Phantom World"
In the near future, monsters and other such creatures, known as phantoms, exist in plain sight. A group of high school students with extraordinary abilities battle the phantoms, eventually discovering the truth about the world. But is the truth what they were expecting? Is the world even real? Or is the world itself a phantom? Check out the trailer for the anime, set to premiere Jan. 7, HERE.

"Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation"
In commemoration of its 15th anniversary, Sega's 2000 online RPG "Phantasy Star Online 2" is getting an anime of its very own. It will feature an original story that will take place on the Earth of the near future, according to Anime News Network, and is scheduled to begin airing in Japan Jan. 7. This anime is the eighth project for the 15th anniversary commemoration. Watch the trailer HERE.

"Sekkou Boys"
This anime features four gypsum images as part of an idiosyncratic idol unit produced by rookie female manager Miki Ishimoto. The group consists of the soldier Saint George, amorous god of war Mars, the multi-talented and super handsome Hermes and celebrity pioneer Medici, reported MyAnimeList.
