The Milwaukee Bucks are among the biggest disappointments in the NBA so far this season and things don't seem to be getting any better as they have lost four of their last five games to drop their record to 10-17 on the season. Aside from losing the games Milwaukee has also suffered another big loss as Greivis Vasquez underwent ankle surgery and could have to miss the rest of the regular season, according to ESPN.

Vasquez has not played since November 27th but he continued to try and play through the injury until he finally determined that he was unable to do so. The surgery Vasquez underwent was a procedure to remove a bone spur and the loose bodies from his ankle. Vasquez had the surgery on Tuesday in New York and is expected to miss at least three months. The official timetable is 3-4 months which would have him out until about April but head coach Jason Kidd is hopeful he will be able to return towards the end of the regular season.

Vasquez was acquired by Milwaukee this offseason in a trade with the Toronto Raptors in which they sent out a partially protected first round pick and Normal Powell. In his first season with the Bucks Vasquez has struggled as he was averaging just 7.1 points per game while shooting 35 percent from the field and 26 percent from three before the injury.

The injury comes at a really bad time for Vasquez as he is in the final year of a two year $13 million contract he signed with the Raptors and he is set to become a free agent after the season. This injury will likely decrease Vasquez's value heading into free agency and it doesn't help that he didn't perform well in the 16 games he has appeared in.

With Vasquez set to miss major time the Bucks will likely fill his absence with Michael Carter-Williams getting more minutes and Jerryd Bayless who himself has missed the Bucks last six games with a sprained ankle. Tyler Ennis may also be in line for a playing time bump with Vasquez now out long-term but it hasn't happened for him just yet.
