A Polish priest attempted to perform an "exorcism" on one of the top newspapers in Poland as part of an anti-media protest.

The priest, with the help of 50 supporters of the country's ruling conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party, performed the exorcism in front of the offices of leading Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza in Warsaw on Sunday, according to Agence France-Presse.

The priest then recited an exorcism prayer while being surrounded by the protesters holding an icon of the Virgin Mary and a sign that read "Rosary crusade for the Motherland."

The newspaper, which is led by former rebel Adam Michnik, has been writing disparaging material against the newly-elected party, which plans on giving the state media a complete overhaul, according to Fox News.

Over in Poland, Gazeta Wyborcza is widely considered as the key symbol of free speech. A big banner that reads: "Constitution without censorship," is currently hanged at the building of the publication.

At the moment, the PiS party currently has the Constitutional Court in its crosshairs. The party's leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski got into an argument with the country's top court on the same day of the protest, blaming it for obstructing the policies of the government, according to NDTV.
