A Pennsylvania woman inadvertently accelerated her car and crashed it into a hospital emergency room's wall while trying to park it, police revealed.

The incident took place at around 7 p.m. on Thursday, where the crash created a big hole in the Penn Highlands Elk hospital emergency room's wall near a window. There were no reports of injuries.

The driver was inspected but is believed to have only sustained minor injuries from the accident, according to the Associated Press.

The driver was identified as 66-year-old Catherine Elliott. She told St. Mary's City Police authorities that she was trying to park her 2011 Subaru at a parking lot in the hospital when her car accelerated for unknown reasons and smashed the hospital wall near the entrance.

"The ER continues to remain open and fully operational. Doors were closed off for a time until dust settled," Karen Hazlett, the spokesperson for the hospital, said in a statement, The Bradford Era reported.

Authorities also said that Elliott may be an employee of the hospital in St. Mary's, which is about 100 miles away from Pittsburgh, according to Myrtle Beach Online.

Police have yet to figure out the cause of the crash. An investigation is still ongoing, and no other details are available as of this time.
