With "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" right around the corner, it's completely understandable why the masses are focusing on Harrison Ford's iconic role of Han Solo. But the lovable space scoundrel wasn't Ford's only character of note. The actor also starred in a little franchise known as "Indiana Jones," ever heard of it?

Ever since Disney purchased Lucasfilm, there has been talk of another "Indiana Jones" film coming down the pipeline. Yet to this point, there has been no official progress on the project. In fact, no one even knew if Ford was open to wearing the iconic fedora once again.

That is, until now.

"Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'd love to do another Indiana Jones," he told Entertainment Weekly. "A character that has a history and a potential, kind of a rollicking good movie ride for the audience, Steven Spielberg as a director - what's not to like?"

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy has said that a new Indy flick is in the long-term plans of the studio, despite the lack of any developments in recent months. With Ford officially climbing aboard, all that's left is for Spielberg (who is also open to returning) to make time in his busy schedule and for the studio to greenlight the sucker. Unfortunately, that may not be top priority at the moment as Lucasfilm is busy with the new "Star Wars" trilogy as well as the planned standalone "Anthology" films. That means it could be a while before we see the whip once more.

We'll keep you updated as more details emerge.
