According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first trailer for "Star Trek Beyond" will screen in front of none other than "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Factions of nerds everywhere are finally coming together over this newly found common ground. Hooray.

"Star Trek Beyond" will be the third film in Paramount's rebooted "Star Trek" franchise that kicked off under "The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams back in 2009. Abrams' Bad Robot production studio is based out of Paramount which is likely how the studio was able to lock in the highly coveted trailer territory.

In addition to "Star Trek Beyond," other high profile projects have secured a screening spot in front of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." These films include: "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," "X-Men: Apocalypse," "Independence Day: Resurgence," and "The Huntsman's  Winter War." Disney (which also owns Marvel and Lucasfilm) may or may not have "The Jungle Book" and "Captain America: Civil War" trailers attached to "The Force Awakens" as well.

Though successful at the box office, 2013's "Star Trek Into Darkness" was met with mixed reaction due to the poorly hidden big reveal and abundance of nods to previous films. "Beyond" is expected to set itself apart by introducing new alien species and recapturing the original series' exploratory feel.

"Star Trek Beyond" will hit theaters on July 22, 2016.
