In the latest Christmas ad of Microsoft, the employees of the tech company are seen singing the Christmas carol "Let There Be Peace on Earth" outside Apple's flagship store on 5th Avenue, joined by a local choir called the Harlem Youth Choir.

After Microsoft offers a heartfelt rendition of the Christmas carol, Apple employees are seen clapping and hugging the Microsoft carolers, TIME reported

"To celebrate the holidays, Microsoft employees, who were selected from across the country, gathered together, meeting each other for the first time, at the new Microsoft 5th Ave Store to spread some holiday wishes," ad's video description on YouTube reads, according to Tech Times.

Microsoft and Apple are known rivals, as both try to persuade consumers to favor one's product over the other. However, the gap between the two tech giants has been made smaller, first, literally, through the moving of Microsoft to a headquarters that is nearer Apple's, and second, because of an initiative between Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Apple CEO Tim Cook who have, in the past, tweeted at each other, according to Business Insider.

Some might deem the stunt fake, but the song choice and the effort by the employees to try and connect with old and new friends give the ad a genuine touch, Tech Times added.
