This year, Wal-Mart is giving its customers an early start on their online holiday shopping by starting its online sales on Sunday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. EST, a few hours before "Cyber Monday."

As extra incentive for people to get an early start on their holiday shopping, Walmart.com CEO Fernando Madeira revealed that the company will be "quadrupling the number of Cyber Monday specials," according to CNN.

The retailer has traditionally started cyber sales on the Monday after Thanksgiving. The company says the purpose of this was to allow shoppers to search online and buy stuff while at work "where they had a high-speed connection." However, Wal-Mart decided to move the start of the sale to Sunday since "faster Internet spread to more homes and smartphones."

"It can be exhausting for working parents and millennials to stay up past midnight to shop online, only to wake up early the next day to get ready for work," Madeira said, according to ABC News. "By starting 'Cyber Monday' hours earlier on Sunday evening and quadrupling the number of Cyber Monday specials, we're making it easier for customers to get ahead of the busiest online shopping day of the year and save on the best gifts."

Wal-Mart has already teased some of its specials for the holiday season ahead of its major competitor, Amazon.

Among Wal-Mart's top items are an LG 65-inch 4K television for $799 (down from $1,299), as well as Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 for $599 (down from $799) and an Air Hogs Video Drone for $75 (down from $109).

Cyber Monday is the biggest day for online revenue, with 2015 on pace to become the first year Cyber Monday sales reach $3 billion, reported the Adobe Digital Index. This projected revenue beats out Black Friday (which comes in second), with online sales expected to be near $2.7 billion.
