Earlier this week, "Mr. Robot" creator and showrunner Sam Esmail, along with stars Christian Slater (Mr. Robot) and Rami Malek (Elliot Anderson), took center stage at a USA Network event in Los Angeles. Esmail admitted that he is keeping a number of details regarding the highly anticipated second season of the breakout hit show a secret. However, he did reveal that season two will address one very prevalent question fans have.

Warning: The following contains spoilers for season one of "Mr. Robot." If you are not completely caught up with the show, turn back now.

Ever since it was revealed that Slater's Mr. Robot is actually a figment of Elliot's imagination and his long-dead father, viewers have been wondering how it is possible for him to speak to other characters in Elliot's life. We see this repeatedly with other members of FSociety as well as when Mr. Robot ominously chats with E-Corp executive Tyrell Wellick.

Esmail wouldn't elaborate, but he did say that "We'll specifically address that scene in the second season," so hopefully some answers will be forthcoming.

Esmail went on to praise Malek, whose singular performance ties this complex web of a show together.

"I'm listening to all these great actors (during the audition), and what they had wasn't working at all," Esmail said. "Then Rami comes in and added this warmth. It changed everything. He added a vulnerability to Elliot. I wanted to hug Elliot and say, 'Don't go away and stop talking.' Rami is a big owner in this character I created."

Elliot and "Mr. Robot" are without a doubt some of the more unique and original creations of the television industry in recent memory. Esmail infuses wave after wave of powerful music, non-traditional shooting styles and a story structure that keeps the audience engaged and in the dark all at the same time. It is the specific tone and Malek's strong performance at the center of it that has set "Mr. Robot" apart from your standard cookie-cutter dramas.

We can't wait until season two hits the airwaves in summer of 2016.
