Country star Kellie Pickler and her Nashville songwriter husband Kyle Jacobs made their reality TV debut last week with their new CMT reality show "I Love Kellie Pickler," and they pulled in the highest ratings for a series premiere on the network, Taste of Country reported. Pickler, the 28-year-old "American Idol" alum and "Dancing With the Stars" winner, is definitely the star of the show, but Jacobs plays an important supporting role in her life and on TV. Here are five things to know about Jacobs.

1. He's an accomplished country music songwriter

Jacobs, 42, is a well-known songwriter in Nashville and has worked with country stars like Kimberly Locke, Lee Brice, Tim McGraw, Eli Young Band, and his wife, according to CMT. Jacobs made country music history in 2007 when "More Than A Memory," the song he co-wrote for Garth Brooks, debuted at number one on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.

2. He started working with Pickler the day after they met.

In an appearance on FOX's daytime talk show "The Real," the couple indulged the hosts with their "meet cute" story, and Pickler explained that they met at a bar in 2007 through mutual friends, Nashville songwriters (and husband and wife) Chris and Amy.

"So we ended up sitting with him and his buddies, and we got lost in conversation and everybody else disappeared," Pickler said. "We started writing songs the next day, and then we got hitched, well, that happened a few years later."

3. He co-wrote Pickler's summertime song "Feeling Tonight."

Jacobs co-wrote Pickler upbeat summer hit "Feeling Tonight" in June, and the song marked the first time the husband and wife duo worked in the studio together. Pickler gushed about Jacobs' songwriting skills in an interview with People in June.

"He is so good at what he does," Pickler told People. "Working with Kyle has been amazing. He has watched me perform for years, so it was great to have a front row seat as an artist and see him in his element."

4. Like his wife, Jacobs is also a dance contest winner.

While attending college in Minnesota, Jacobs won a dance contest on his own merit before meeting Pickler, USA Today reported, and has the trophy to prove it.

"We've been joking about sneaking into the Country Music Hall of Fame and putting his little dance trophy beside my mirror-ball trophy," Pickler told USA Today.

5. Jacobs' snoring drives his wife crazy.

Pickler recently stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres" show and revealed that the one thing that drives her crazy about her hubby is his snoring.

"You know what, he's a lot better sleeper than I am, and he snores," she told DeGeneres. "I have insomnia, and I'm up like all hours of the night, and I get jealous that he's asleep and he's snoring."
