Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning broke Brett Favre's record for career passing yards on Sunday, but it was bittersweet as Manning was pulled in the third quarter after throwing four interceptions.

The Kansas City Chiefs dominated the Broncos 29-13 on Sunday, and while Manning set an NFL record, he had his worst performance on the season. Head coach Gary Kubiak told the media after the game that Manning was still the Broncos starting quarterback, but it could be a week-to-week decision, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. Quarterback Brock Osweiler stepped in for Manning, but struggled throwing for 146 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

The Broncos still sit in first place in the AFC West at 7-2, but will need the star quarterback to play better as he has 13 interceptions to nine touchdowns on the season. Denver has stated that Manning is still quarterback, and expect Manning to come out firing against the Chicago Bears next week.

Manning was just 5 for 20 for 35 yards on Sunday, but broke Favre's record of 71,838 yards with a four-yard pass to Ronnie Hillman in the first quarter. The Broncos quarterback is tied with Favre for most career wins by a quarterback at 186.

Manning has won the regular season MVP a record five times, and belongs in the discussion as one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play the game. Manning currently holds the record for single-season passing yards (5,477), single-season touchdowns (55) and career touchdown passes with 530 touchdowns.
