Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford was knocked out of Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins, but X-rays on his left shoulder are negative, according to the Eagles Twitter account. While Bradford escaped without a significant shoulder injury, the Eagles quarterback has been evaluated and diagnosed with a concussion, according to the team.

Philadelphia also lost one of their top running backs in Ryan Mathews to a concussion on Sunday, according to the Eagles Twitter account. The Eagles lost to the Miami Dolphins 20-19, and were forced to put in and finish the game with backup quarterback Mark Sanchez. Sanchez threw for 156 yards on 23 passing attemps, but also threw an interception and struggled in relief of Bradford.

Both Mathews and Bradford will have to clear concussion protocol before they can return next week, and the Eagles have a big matchup looming against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Eagles were only a game behind in the NFC East prior to Sunday's game, and Sanchez was not able to make a late comeback against the Dolphins.

Sanchez has experience in head coach Chip Kelly's offense, and will need to step up as long as Bradford is out. The NFC East is shaping up to be a tight race down the stretch, and Eagles fans are likely hoping Bradford will be able to recover and return soon.
