"NCIS" star Pauley Perrette was almost killed on Thursday night near her Hollywood home when a homeless man jumped from his hiding spot and attacked her.

The 46-year-old actress took to Twitter on Friday with a lengthy post explaining exactly what happened with this "VERY psychotic homeless man" named William. "So, tonight was awful, life changing, and I'm only grateful to be alive," she tweeted, along with a screenshot of her detailed story.

"I was very hesitant about tweeting this, tonight was an awful night," the post read. She explained how she was walking across the street to her new guest house when she was jumped. "He grabbed me so forcefully, pinned my arm, punched me in the nose, forehead repeatedly telling me he was going to kill me...I was alone, terrified and trapped."

Eventually, he started screaming his name at her and telling her he was going to kill me, and all she could do was pray. He started punching her again, and finally he told her to "get the f-k out of here," so she did as she was told.

Perrette then explains that she went into shock and then collapsed on the sidewalk as one pedisestrain who was talking on phone walked by and did nothing. Perrette finally found the strength to text her neighbor. She also called her friend who, a police officer, so she could sketch the suspect, "who was headed towards Hollywood Blvd with murder in his eyes," Perrette wrote, adding that the cops finally found him and charged him with felony assault.

"I am shaken and traumatized. My house, my beloved Hollywood. My beloved homeless people that I spend my life protecting," she emotionally continued to write. "My life changed tonight. We need full mental health care. We need housing and help for the homeless. We need to support our cops. We need to not walk alone. I need to heal. I almost died tonight."

This isn't the first time the star took to social media to explain a horrifying experience. Last summer, she had a severe allergic reaction to hair dye that landed her in the hospital, as HNGN previously reported. She started the tweet off in similarly, writing, "I wasn't sure if I should tweet about this, but it's important." She went on to warn her followers and fans about the dangers of hair dye and allergic reactions.
