Daniel Radcliffe had the honor of receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday when the "Harry Potter" star received the 2,565th star, which is located on the 6800 block of Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the Dolby Theatre, according to CBS Los Angeles

The 26-year-old first started acting in 1999 when he took part in the BBC One production of "David Cooperfield." Radcliffe then went on to star as the world's most famous wizard, Harry Potter, in all eight film adaptations of J.K. Rowling's popular book series. Since his time as the boy wizard concluded in 2011, the actor has worked to separate himself from the "Harry Potter" franchise and has starred in films like "The Woman in Black," "Horns" and the upcoming "Victor Frankenstein" with James McAvoy.

"It's really an incredible honor," Radcliffe said, according to Variety. "We [Brits] have a national embarrassment about people saying nice things about us, so I was taken aback at first but then I had a real sense of gratitude. Only about 20 percent of people who work in film and television end up on the Walk of Fame. It's kind of amazing. I don't know if they remove these things, but no matter how badly I mess up, they can't remove it."

The event was attended by Radcliffe, Chris Columbus, who directed Radcliffe in the first two Harry Potter films, and comedian Chris Hardwick of Comedy Central's "@Midnight," according to Mashable.
