Gerald Green has been all over the news recently because of his recent stint in the hospital but despite that there haven't been many details as to why he was there or what may have happened. The Miami Heat have been extremely quiet about the situation but they finally made an announcement on Tuesday night by suspending Green for two games for "conduct detrimental to the team" the team announced.

Green will begin his suspension immediately and will be able to return to game action next Tuesday when Miami takes on the Minnesota Timberwolves. Green has not played since November 1st when the Heat defeated the Houston Rockets.

The 29 year old forward was taken to the hospital last Wednesday with what was classified as an illness but there were no other details besides that. There were reports that Green was found in his condo by a neighbor of his and he was unconscious and bleeding when the neighbor found him and called 911. Upon arrival the Miami-Dade fire and rescue requested assistance because Green was considered a "combative patient," according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Green's teammates and head coach Erik Spoelstra didn't provide much in the way of details as all Spoelstra would say was "the only comment we'll make other than what we made yesterday is that we're grateful that he's safe and healthy right now. Our thoughts are with him and his family."

The reason for Green's hospitalization is still unknown but the fact that he is suspended brings a little bit more clarity to the situation, if not a whole lot. Green was released from the hosptial on Saturday and it is unknown if he will be ready to play when he is eligible. Green has only played in three games so far this season and he is averaging just over 10 points per game.
