The Miami Heat lost on Tuesday night to the Atlanta Hawks by a score of 98-92 and Gerald Green was inactive because of an illness. It seemed pretty standard at the time that Green was probably sick and needed a game off, but then it was reported that Green was actually in the hospital for unknown reasons. Now it is being reported that Green was found unconscious and bleeding at his condo complex, according to TMZ Sports.

Green was found by someone in his home and they immediately called 911 saying "I have a resident that just passed out. He's bleeding. He just passed out right now." The Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene and reportedly requested more assistance because Green was a "combative patient." Green was eventually put into an ambulance and taken to a hospital where he would undergo tests and treatment.

As of right now there aren't any updates on his status and the details about how he ended up passed out are few and far between. The Heat have not given any updates on Green as they just said he was admitted to a hospital and "right now our concerns are with Gerald and we have no further comment at this time."

TMZ has reported that Green needed a stretcher to be brought out of his condo and that before he was found people at the complex said he was acting very "strange in the lobby and screaming from the top of his lungs." Nobody wants to speculate as to the cause of all of this but what initially looked like just a minor illness now seems a lot more serious. The Heat are very silent on the matter which would seemingly add to the idea that it may be a pretty serious matter.

Green signed a one year deal with Miami for the minimum this offseason to bring them scoring punch off the bench but he was off to a shaky start. In his first three games with the Heat Green is averaging 10.3 points per game but he is shooting just 32 percent from the field. It is unknown if or when he will be able to return to the court this season but the Heat should provide some sort of update on his condition in the near future.
