Daniel Fleetwood, 32, was diagnosed with a connective tissue cancer, and in July, he was told by doctors that he had only two months to live. Fleetwood, a "Star Wars" fan since he was 8 or 9 years old, asked Walt Disney Studios last week to let him watch "The Force Awakens" before its Dec. 18 release as he was worried he wouldn't make it, as HNGN previously reported.

Fleetwood's dying wish has now been granted. "Today the wonderful Disney and Lucasfilms made his final dream come true," his wife, Ashley, posted on Facebook. "In the amazing typical Disney way, they really do make dreams come true!"

"Daniel just finished watching an unedited version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!!!" she wrote. "We would like to thank the awesomely talented JJ Abrams for calling us yesterday to tell us Daniel was getting his wish granted!"

To all our wonderful supporters, friends, family and awesome strangers: Daniels final dream was just granted!!! Today...

The film's screening took place at Fleetwood's home in Texas. "I want to thank ALL the amazing people who helped make this happen, thank you beyond words!!! May the force be with you all," Ashley added.

Fleetwood's dying wish to watch "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" early ignited a Twitter campaign using the hashtag #ForceForDaniel, which quickly went viral, garnering support from "Star Wars" cast members, including Mark Hamill and John Boyega, according to People.

Hamill, who famously played the role of Luke Skywalker, also took to Twitter to share the good news, saying he was "elated" for the terminally ill "Star Wars" fan.
