Lana Del Rey will be honored with the Trailblazer award at Billboard's Women in Music event, according to Billboard. The Trailblazer award recognizes Del Rey's inspiring and interesting musical path.

"Lana Del Rey has done things her way from the moment she first burst on the scene, and continues to make brave and bold choices that defy convention," said Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media's Entertainment Group, which owns Billboard. "She's a trailblazer from her music to her mystery to her multitude of other interests. She keeps everyone awaiting her next move."

The same event will also honor Lady Gaga as Woman of the Year, Selena Gomez as this year's Chart Topper, Demi Lovato as this year's Rulebreaker and Alabama Shakes singer Brittany Howard with the Powerhouse award.

Billboard established the Trailblazer award in 2014 as an effort to recognize "a standout female artist who breaks from convention to make a unique mark in music and pave the way for other talent," according to last year's press release. The Trailblazer award was given to Paramore's Hayley Williams last year.

Billboard's Women in Music event will take place in New York City on Dec. 11. The ceremony will air on Lifetime on Dec. 18.
