The Mazda RX-Vision sports car is one of the concepts that stood out in the on-going Tokyo Motor Show. The low-slung sports car has a beautifully arresting look that - combined with its pedigree - drew a consistent throng of the show's spectators. There is no better way of demonstrating this than showing how it looks. See the pictures below.

Mazda has not provided comprehensive mechanical details about the RX-Vision concept. Based on its physical appearance, spectators could only presume that it offers what looks to be a two-rotor mill found under the hood of the vehicle. It is also outfitted with a rotary-powered engine, a unit that the automaker called SKYACTIV-R, which is a four-cylinder piston motor found in some Mazda vehicles in recent years, according to SlashGearFor example, the RX-Vision's rotary engine technology is last seen in the Mazda RX-7.

Some expressed reservations about the RX-Vision's engine technology as it is a fuel guzzler. Mazda has not used it since 2011, when the RX-8 was cancelled, noted Business Insider. However, it is important to note that the rotary combustion technology is potentially a range-extending generator since the RX-Vision will be a hybrid sports car. Those concerned about regulatory hurdles regarding emission and fuel consumption issues can, therefore, heave a collective sigh of relief.

Mazda promises that the RX-Vision will roll-out of assembly lines two years from now, according to CNN. In the meantime, it is on display until the Tokyo Motor Show ends in Nov. 8.
