Creator Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell will reboot the "Ash vs. Evil Dead" franchise in a new series on Starz. The premium cable channel has already shown early confidence in the show with a season two renewal.

"Ash vs. Evil Dead" will premiere its first 10-episode season on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 9 p.m. Each episode of the comedic horror series is a half hour long.

"One season isn't enough to satisfy the fan's two decade-long appetite for more Ash," said Carmi Zlotnik, Managing Director of Starz. "The early fan and press support, along with the international broadcaster demand for more story have made it clear that the adventures of Ash Williams can't end with season one."

Fox Gives Full Season Order to "Grandfathered"

Fox has given a full season order to freshman comedy "Grandfathered," a day after its timeslot partner "The Grinder" received the same order. The series, starring John Stamos and Josh Peck, has averaged a 2.1 in the 18-49 demo in Live+7 ratings.

"Since the very beginning, we knew this show would be that rare commodity - a genuinely original family comedy. The remarkable John Stamos, Josh Peck, Paget Brewster and the entire cast have sparkling chemistry, and the show's creative team has delivered fantastic scripts that keep these great characters moving. We know fans are going to love the surprises in store for the rest of the season," Fox Entertainment President David Madden said.

"Shades of Blue" to Replace "The Player" on NBC in January

NBC will replace "The Player," starring Wesley Snipes, with the new Jennifer Lopez cop drama, "Shades of Blue," in January. The Peacock network cuts it order for "The Player" down to 10 episodes last week.

"Shades of Blue," which also stars Ray Liotta, will premiere on Thursday, Jan. 14 at 9 p.m.

Miss Universe and Miss USA Pageants Headed To Fox

Fox has acquired the rights to the Miss Universe and Miss USA pageant, previously dropped by NBC earlier this year due to its former affiliation with Donald Trump. The 64th Annual Miss Universe Pageant will air from Las Vegas on Sunday, Dec. 20 on Fox, which will air the Miss USA Pageant in 2016.

Carrie Underwood to Headline Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve

ABC has tapped Carrie Underwood as the headlining act for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest. Underwood dropped her new album, Storyteller, last week.

“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be than New York’s Times Square, one of the most magical places in the world, to ring in the New Year,” Underwood said in a statement. “It’s going to be a memorable night, and I can’t wait to celebrate with the world!”

Seacrest will lead the countdown for his 10th straight year while Jenny McCarthy returns to report from Times Square and Fergie hosts the Billboard Hollywood Party again.
