If rumors are to be believed, it seems like Samsung aims to strike the market first next year, with a new report suggesting that the tech giant might debut its next flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S7, as early as January 2016, instead of the company's typical spring release, reports Fox News.

The report was released in the South Korean publication, Electronic Times, which states that the Galaxy S7 has entered the production phase in order to prepare for an early 2016 launch. Though official specifications about the new flagship are very little at the moment, the rumors circulating around the phone's specs seem to suggest that typical to Samsung, the S7 will be one powerhouse of a smartphone.

Among these rumors include a powerful new version of Samsung's home-grown Exynos processor, which is to be utilized in some areas. Other rumors also suggest that the Galaxy S7 will depart from the S6's glass design and instead opt for an all-metal frame, according to Yahoo! News.

Rumors are also circulating that Samsung's S7 will be equipped with a pressure-sensitive display, similar to the 3-D touch technology featured in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

With steep competition from main rival Apple, and with notable phones such as the Google Nexus 6P beating out the Samsung's battery life and overall value, the Galaxy S7 has very big shoes to fill. If the company does release the S7 in January, Samsung will have the opportunity to strike the market first.
