Warning: The following contains possible spoilers for AMC's "The Walking Dead."

Sunday night's episode of AMC's "The Walking Dead" may have indirectly confirmed a long gestating fan theory: Enid, Carl's teenaged love interest, is a spy for The Wolves.

The Alexandria Safe Zone was from safe Sunday night as The Wolves executed a full-on assault on the town. Countless Alexandrians were slaughtered during the attack in what was easily one of "The Walking Dead's" most violent episodes. Thankfully, Carol, Aaron and a begrudging Morgan were there to help fend off the attack.

But how did The Wolves get into Alexandria? How did they know exactly where to go? Maybe because Enid told them. As of now, this is just an unconfirmed theory, but the episode did hint at the possibility.

Specifically, one quick unfinished line of dialogue from Enid is the true tell. She's talking with Carl about the difficulties of defending Alexandria due to its size when she says "That's how we..." before trailing off. The "we" in that line is almost assuredly referring to the Wolves and the ongoing attack.

In a more general sense, Enid has been a mystery since we met her. She's been seen sneaking outside the walls and walking around in the woods since last season, but a reason for her trips outside Alexandria is never given. Could it be that she sneaks away to feed The Wolves vital information? Perhaps she informed the group that Rick and Co. were off-site and now would be the perfect time to attack. Otherwise, The Wolves' invasion seems awfully coincidental.

Then there's her whole "JSS" fixation, which we find out stands for "Just Survive Somehow." This could be a direct explanation of her own tragic actions. In order to survive, she joined up with the villainous Wolves. It's not necessarily an excuse or a justification, more of an explanation for her choices.

Could Enid have formed a genuine attachment to Carl and the Alexandria community? Absolutely. That's probably why this past episode didn't showcase her killing townsfolk with the rest of The Wolves. But there are far too many clues, both big and small, that suggest she's something other than what she appears to be.
