First it was the insufferable Lori who Rick Grimes was loyal to since she was, you know, his wife and all. Now it's Jessie, who doesn't seem too keen on reciprocating his love after he killed her husband.

What does Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes have to do to get a date in "The Walking Dead?" Look elsewhere, for starters.

Fans of AMC's smash hit show have been clamoring for Rick and Michonne to get together ever since her katana wielding butt-kicker first appeared. But will it actually ever happen? Probably not.

"You know that When Harry Met Sally thing about men and women can't be friends because sex is always involved," actor Michael Cuditz, who plays Abraham, said via Digital Spy of a potential coupling. "I think this is one of those relationships where it's not. The audience can take it there, but I don't think for them that exists at all.

"I think there's a respect and a love maybe in a way that we can't even understand because it is a post-apocalyptic. It's this other thing that's grown out of Michonne's need for family and Rick's need to protect his family."

Producer Greg Nicotero wouldn't elaborate on a possible Rick-Michonne relationship, but it sounds as if fans should stop holding out hope. Rick and Michonne are just friends; partners in the zombie apocalypse. If it ever becomes something more than great; if not, well, that's okay too. For now, you can uncross your fingers and stop shouting at your TV every time they are on screen together.
