After 17 long years, Jon Stewart hosted his final episode of "The Daily Show," and the 52-year-old media critic couldn't have asked for a better farewell. Bruce Springsteen rocked our faces off and performed a couple of songs with E Street Band for an epic finale on Thursday.

"This is by request of the man himself," Springsteen said before launching into the 1999 tune, "Land of Hope and Dreams," according to Rolling Stones. "Thanks for everything, Jon. We wish you happy and safe travels."

The "Rolling Stones" member also performed "Born to Run" in the final moments of the show's finale, as Stewart danced and hugged his staff and special guests from the show's long history while highlights of the host's past 17 years were displayed on a large screen behind Springsteen, Entertainment Weekly reported.

After the performance, Stewart and Springsteen hugged it out, nearly choking up as he managed to muster a few words, "Thank you. Good night," officially ending his stretch as host of "The Daily Show."
