British politician and London mayor Boris Johnson accidentally tackled a 10-year-old Japanese schoolboy during a friendly game of street rugby in Tokyo.

Johnson knocked over Toki Sekiguchi during a friendly game of street rugby, which was organized to mark Japan hosting 2019's Rugby World Cup on Thursday. The boy hit the ground but was soon up and running again.

Immediately after the collision, he asked whether the kid was okay. "I'm so sorry, are you okay?" Johnson was heard asking the boy, according to AFP.

"I felt a little bit of pain but it's OK," Toki told reporters, according to Evening Telegraph. He also said that he enjoyed meeting with Johnson.

The embarrassing incident occurred during Boris Johnson's official visit to the Japan.

The British politician, speaking at a business gathering, has played down the incident. "We have just played a game of street rugby with a bunch of kids and I accidentally flattened a 10-year-old, on TV unfortunately," he said, Sky News reported.

"But, he bounced back, he put it behind him, the smile returned rapidly to his face," he added. It is not first time the London Mayor collided with a child in friendly game. He tripped a nine-year-old boy in a kickabout in London last year.
