The Miami Dolphins are reportedly expected to inquire about New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton after the 2015 season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Dolphins fired head coach Joe Philbin after the team lost its third consecutive game against the Jets last Sunday in London. Miami has since named Dan Campbell their interim head coach, but it seems as though the organization is already looking toward the 2016 season.

Payton signed an extension with the Saints in 2013, and his contract runs through 2017. Payton is due to make $8 million a year the next couple seasons, but that is likely not going to stop other teams pursuing him after the 2015 season.

Sean Payton and the Saints won a Super Bowl in 2009, but New Orleans has struggled to start this season and currently have the same record as the Dolphins at 1-3.

The Dolphins may not be the only team in pursuit of Payton following the 2015 season though, as the Indianapolis Colts reportedly could be interested in Payton after this season, per Schefter. Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is not under contract beyond his season, and team owner Jim Irsay has high expectations for his team this season.

Since Payton is under contract till 2017, the Saints would be entitled to compensation if he were to go work for another NFL organization. Payton would have to agree with the situation, and it's hard to believe Payton would go anywhere without a franchise quarterback.

It seems almost inevitable that the Dolphins will be looking for a coach following the 2015 season, but Campbell has time to impress the organization. Campbell implemented the Oklahoma Drill in his first practice as the head coach, and he is likely hoping to bring a toughness to this team that will help turn their season around.
