Warning: The following contains possible spoilers for AMC's "The Walking Dead" and definite spoilers for "The Walking Dead" comic book. You've been warned.

Season six of AMC's "The Walking Dead" premieres this Sunday, so we're here to give you a bit of a refresher on what's been going on and what is rumored to go down this year. First, a quick recap.

When last we left Rick Grimes and our merry band of zombie slayers, all was not well in the post-apocalyptic world. Rick had made a public spectacle of his insanity in Alexandria during an unimpressive altercation with Pete, Jessie's abusive husband. This did not exactly ingratiate him to Alexandria leader Deanna and the rest of the townsfolk. Yet the next day, when the citizens were holding a meeting to decide Rick's fate, our favorite slightly crazy sheriff dispatched of a few pesky walkers while Pete drunkenly killed Deanna's husband. Ouch, not a good day.

Deanna gave Rick permission to (finally) end Pete, yet after Rick pulled the trigger he was astonished to see Morgan standing there watching disapprovingly. Hmm, this could get interesting.

Oh, and a mutilating gang of psychopaths known only as The Wolves have been set up as season six's big bad.

So, what juicy spoilers have we been hearing about this new season?

Character Deaths

Fans of "The Walking Dead" have come to expect characters they know and love to become zombie chow. But the show has tried to only kill off side characters and villains in recent years. Hershel was never going to be long for this world, ditto for The Governor and Gareth of Terminus. Although we all liked Noah and Tyrese, they weren't exactly central to the main plot. "The Walking Dead" seems apprehensive to lose anyone of true consequence.

But that could change.

Rumors have run rampant that either Glen or Daryl could be in serious trouble this year. Would showrunner Scott Gimple really sacrifice one of his main characters? It's not out of the question.

Negan

Fans of "The Walking Dead" comic book know this name well.

Negan is the most iconic villain from the source material and someone fans have been waiting a long time to see on screen. Well, they may get their wish this year. Unconfirmed reports have hinted that Negan will make his debut in the latter episodes of season six and could even be played by "24" alum Xander Berkeley.

Downfall of Alexandria

In the comics, Alexandria is overrun by Walkers (because of course it is), which leads to some casualties and the disfigurement of a major character.

Photos from the set this year suggest a similar storyline may play out in the mid-season finale. This would be a major game changer and obviously lead to a wildly different second half of season six. Will it actually come to fruition? We don't know, but it is a distinct possibility.

Season six of "The Walking Dead" premieres this Sunday night on AMC at 9:00 PM ET.
