Yesterday, it was reported that Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/Hulk could be making his next Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance in "Thor: Ragnarok." If true, that's obviously a delight to MCU fans everywhere. But what's even better is that the God of Thunder and the Green Goliath may be joined by another superhero in the 2017 film. Marvel Studios is apparently interested in adding a new female superhero to the mix: Valkyrie.

Birth. Movies. Death. reports that their sources have confirmed that Hulk will appear in "Thor: Ragnarok" in addition to Valkyrie in her live-action debut. Sadly, the outlet does not have any details regarding the heroine's role in the film, but it does say that the movie will be the darkest of all MCU entries to date. They describe the film as Thor and Hulk going on a "cosmic road trip together." Interesting...

In the comics, Valkyrie is an Asgardian warrior who leads the Valkyrior - a mystical group that takes worthy fallen soldiers of battle to Valhalla. Give her Asgardian roots, Valkyrie possesses impressive strength and durability and is quite deadly with a spear and sword.

This isn't the first time Marvel has wanted to include Valkyrie in the flesh. Back in early 2014, concept art from "Thor: The Dark World" emerged showing character designs and what not. Unfortunately, she never made it into the final version.

If true, Birth. Movies. Death. says fans should expect casting rumors to start cropping up soon. It's interesting that Marvel Studios would go this route at the same time they are casting for Captain Marvel as both are strong, powerful blonde women. Will casting calls for both roles cancel each other out when it comes to top tier talent?

"Thor: Ragnarok" will be directed by Taika Waititi ("What We Do In The Shadows"). The film will hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
